What to do - Sites

Saipan, Tinian and Rota each present a wealth of historic, cultural and geographic sites that highlight the unique richness of the Northern Marianas.  The best part is, you can easily visit a number of significant sites in a single day due to the intimacy of these small islands.

Micro Beach and American Memorial Park

Follow Beach Road north until you reach the end, and you’ve arrived at American Memorial Park.  A left turn will take you to one of the finest beaches in Saipan.  Micro Beach is the staging point for a number of watersports activities, from windsurfing to parasailing to jet-skiing.  Shallow sandy-floored waters off of the beach seem to stretch for miles, and at low tide one can walk quite a ways out on long sandbar islands that finger out towards the lagoon.

If you wander down the pathway from Micro Beach through American Memorial Park, you’ll find WW2 bunkers, memorials, a playground for the kids, the site of an historic Carolinian village, the AMP Visitor’s Center, a mangrove replanting project and the smiling cove marina at the northern end of the park.
