The Northern Marianas possess some of the best snorkeling on the planet.  The fringed-reef lagoon that skirts the length of much of Saipan’s western coast, provides a sanctuary for a vast variety of colorful tropical fish and other marine life, and offers an extremely safe snorkeling experience.  Likewise, just off of the white sand beaches of Tinian and Rota, there is amazing snorkeling to be had.

A short boatride will bring you to Managaha Island, which has been named in many publications as one of the best sites for snorkeling in the world.  Spots like the Grotto, Laolao Bay, and Obyan are likewise amazing off-the-beaten track sites that offer fantastic snorkeling opportunities.

The snorkeler’s senses will be bombarded with the sheer number of things to see on the inner reef and lagoon areas of Saipan, Tinian and Rota.  Vibrantly colored schools of fish, solitary snappers, skipjack, parrotfish, wrasse, butterfly fish, clownfish, angelfish, morey eels, shrimp, nudibranchs, starfish, lionfish, the occasional eagle rays and turtles, and corals of every color and shape imaginable, are only a few of the things you’re likely to encounter while snorkeling the rich waters of the Marianas.

Activities available on SaipanTinian, Rota.
